Coalmont Centennial

Saturday the 9th of July will be party time here. Not only will we be celebrating our 100 years of survival, but the Blakeburn reunion will be incorporated. It will be a day of reminiscing and catching up with old friends.

This is all made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Coalmont Energy Corporation, which is owned by Arthon Construction Ltd. CEC is our new neighbour, and they will be developing the coal mine over the next few years. If you have any questions about their operation, there will be a representative present at the party.

Starting at noon, we'll have a BBQ with hamburgers and pop. At 4:30 we will be having a dinner for Coalmont residents, Blakeburn Reunion members, and all our guests. We'll have a tent set up.

Coalmontians are all adding their bit here. Especially Lillian Young who organizes the Blakeburn Reunion every year. Musicians are invited to bring instruments and play anytime. We also encourage and welcome any other festival contributions. Ideas and questions in that regard can be sent to Expect updates to this page.

See You There!

Update: We've got a big tent coming which is going to be set up on the lot behind the Coalmont Hotel. Steve Dimond from Coalmont Energy will be on hand to party with us and is bringing his sound system. For those who fancy a beer, the Hotel will be open, and so will the brand new Coalmont Kiosk for those who prefer an ice cream cone. However, don't spoil your appetite - dinner is roast beef.
