Great to see all the old pics. Sorry to hear WW has passed away, my father and him were friends growing up. They owned together I believe the lake store and the property that is now the provincial picnic ground in Tulameen. Annie used run the store and I believe they rented boats too. My Grandfather was the clerk at Blakeburn when the explosion occured and also ran the Coalmont Liquor Store at one time. RV Shaw was his name. Great work on the website and will drop by for a chat this summer if that way.............

I lived in Coalmont in the 1960's and I like to go back occasionally to visit. In fact I am staying at the Mosey-On-Inn the first week of August. See you then!

My family and I have been spending summers in the area for many, many generations and I never get tired of looking up facts and pictures about the places we love so dear--sometimes even learning something new! Thanks for all your work on this site! Cant wait to be back up there!!

Message for Bob Murray: Hi Bob. I have read some things you have written on the internet in various places. It seems like you have a wonderful memory of times that are quickly being forgotten. Have you ever considered putting your thoughts together into your Memoirs (either taping them or typing them out)? I think there are lots of people around who would be really interested to read them. Thanks.

I was born in Blakeburn Dec. 24th,1929, Uncle George Murray was mine manager. My Dad Robert Stuart Murray was a pit boss.
I remember buying rolls of caps for my genuine G man cap pistol at Cooks store in the late 30s. Also played shinny ice hockey on saturday mornings at the makeshift ice rink that was behind Gerry & Lizzie Brown's hotel.
Our family all moved to Vancouver in the summer of 1940 when the mines closed. We usually spent our summer holidays at Tulameen either in tents or renting cabins from Mr Hosey who also ran the store at the lakefront.
Had a happy cchildhood - Bob Murray
